Web Development Specialist
HEROweb Marketing & Design is adding a Web Development Specialist to our team. The ideal candidate will take a key role in developing websites for our customers and take part in implementing projects focused around creating user-friendly web and mobile applications.Our web sites are all built using the MightyMerchant Ecommerce/CMS system. The successful candidate will learn how to use MightyMerchant's capabilities and bring fresh ideas and perspectives to our platform. The person we are looking for will have a unique blend of drive, initiative, creative ability, and strong communication skills. And, in a fast-paced business such as ours, the devil is in the details. We are looking for a detail-oriented individuals who can manage many simultaneous projects skillfully.

Overall Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality websites from start to finish using the MightyMerchant suite of Ecommerce and web development tools
- Understand our company's vision and philosophy and work as part of a team to help us reach our goals
- Manage projects and keep customers on task
- Create beautiful visual web designs and/or be able to work with and manage contract graphic designers to implement web projects
- Project energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge about our services and doing business online
Essential Functions
- Build database/template-driven websites.
- Implement Javascripts and Cascading Style Sheets
- Build site interfaces with jQuery
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
- Demonstrate proficiency with graphic design tools such as Photoshop and Fireworks
- Develop functionality related to MightyMerchant and our customers' websites, using php/mysql
- Assist with integrating MightyMerchant with third-party applications using published APIs
- Contribute to development of new technologies and initiatives
- Be actively engaged with Social Media
- Contribute to end-user and developer documentation
- Become an expert in web usability
- Gain a strong working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization principals
- Streamline processes for integrating customer data, images, and copy into websites
- Do website updates and maintenance
- Test sites for functionality and accuracy
- Communicate with customers throughout the design process
- Put in place processes and documentation related to web development practices and business processes

Compensation
Hourly - based on experience
Includes:
Medical Insurance (80% covered by HEROweb, available if working full-time)
5 Paid Holidays
5 Paid days off annually, after 6 months
